My journey has been fun and exciting. I was born in Peru, studied in Spain, played with bands around Europe and then moved to USA where I graduated from Berklee College of Music (Summa Cum Laude) as a scholarship student. Now in NYC, I've been working as a drummer and teacher since 2012. Still, my teaching experience comes from way back (when I was still in Peru) getting my first private students and subbing for my teachers at my music school.
Teaching drums has always been an integral part of my musical life and all of that knowledge throughout those years is what I offer. I feel patience, flexibility and communication are really important to have a good student/teacher relationship. It doesn't matter your level or age, I'm sure I'll be helpful in your journey as a drummer. Just hit me up! I offer a trial lesson for a discounted rate!

David was super responsive for us to book our trial lesson, we did it the day after we got in touch, and it was so good! It just changed my day for the better and I immediately decided to continue taking lessons with him. He is an amazing drummer and teacher, I feel he tailors the class for what I want to do but keeps me in line to develop skills that I lack in order to progress. David has prepared a study material for every topic and skill level, which keeps me motivated to do my homework in addition to working on a song. If you check his Instagram, he posts so many licks and exercises - it is such a valuable resource too. From that you can tell how David is not only a wonderful drummer but also person, willing to share his knowledge with everyone. I couldn't recommend him more!

David seems to magically know why I’m struggling and how to fix it. He’ll break down a difficult measure in a way that makes it suddenly so easy, or lock me to the metronome if I’m out-of-control, or just put on great music and let me play any groove at all until I’m loosened up. If you have a wide variety of musical tastes, or want to learn a lot of different styles, you’re in good hands, because it seems that he can play and teach any kind of music at all. David’s also extremely organized, always has a plan, and is always on time. And yet, he’s also extremely laid back and his relaxed vibe is contagious. Lessons with him are always educational, fun, and therapeutic, and I recommend him highly, without reservations. He kicks ass.
